The UN Correspondents Association held a press conference with Save the Children to launch their report “Forced to Flee: Inside the 21st Largest Country”, Tuesday, September 13th in the UNCA Briefing room.
Panelists included Carolyn Miles, President & CEO of Save the Children and Ninette Kelley, Director of the NY Office, UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

There are currently more than 65 million forcibly-displaced people worldwide—if they all lived in one country, it would be the 21st largest in the world. Just as the Olympic International Committee created a team to ensure refugee athletes are represented, Save the Children will launch a report ranking this imagined ‘country’ in relation to others in areas such as population growth, education, access to healthcare, and potential GDP.
