The UN Correspondents Association held a press conference with Save the Children to launch their report “Forced to Flee: Inside the 21st Largest Country”, Tuesday, September 13th in the UNCA Briefing room.

Panelists included Carolyn Miles, President & CEO of Save the Children and Ninette Kelley, Director of the NY Office, UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The media advisory from Save the Children below has more details of the report.

There are currently more than 65 million forcibly-displaced people worldwide—if they all lived in one country, it would be the 21st largest in the world. Just as the Olympic International Committee created a team to ensure refugee athletes are represented, Save the Children will launch a report ranking this imagined ‘country’ in relation to others in areas such as population growth, education, access to healthcare, and potential GDP.
