UNCA Report Launch with Save the Children on the Psychological Effects of Syria’s 6-year war on Children – Monday, March 6th, 2017

The United Nations Correspondents Association held a press conference with Save the Children to launch a new report titled “Invisible Wounds: The impact of the six years of war on the mental health of Syria’s children” on Monday, March 6th in the UNCA meeting room.

Sonia Khush, Save the Children’s Regional Syria Director
Sonia has worked with Save the Children since 2000 and is currently on assignment in Southern Turkey acting as Country Director for Save the Children’s work in Syria and for Syrian refugees in Turkey.

Rolla H., Head of Gaziantep Office, Syria Relief
Rolla has been leading the Gaziantep Office of Syria Relief for more than two years. From Turkey, Rolla helps manage implementation of education, nutrition, and child protection programs in Syria, as well as the organization’s media staff in and outside of Syria.

Carolyn Miles, President & CEO, Save the Children
Carolyn Miles worked for Save the Children for nearly 20 years, and has met hundreds of families affected by the crisis in Syria. Save the Children is an organization that gives children in the U.S. and around the world a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. The global Save the Children movement, currently serving more than 143 million children in the U.S. and in more than 120 countries.
